FAQ
Who can take classes?
Anyone is welcome no matter their fitness levels, age, gender, race or sexual orientation. If you have any accessibility requirements or concerns, please reach out to us so we can accommodate you. Anyone under 18 needs parental consent.
How do I sign up?
All classes are booked online through our website. You must register at least 2 hours prior to class starting for attendance. For all Zoom classes you will receive an email link 10-15 minutes prior to the start time of your class. Please be sure that your email in the booking system is updated and current.
What should I wear?
Please wear shorts and whatever sort of top you feel comfortable in. We recommend yoga shorts or jazz shorts. If you do not have these, then shorts that are at least above the knee. Layers are often recommended during warm up and winter months to help keep your muscles warm as you stretch. Dancing heels are welcome in classes, though never required.
What should I bring?
Please feel free to bring just yourself. You are welcome to bring a yoga mat, a water bottle, a pair of socks, knee pads or leg warmers. The studio does provide yoga mats, pole cleaner, towels, and water as needed.
Do I need to be in shape to start?
Absolutely not! Everyone starts somewhere in their pole journey. Most students start with no prior athletic or dance background. Pole classes help develop the strength you need with exercises in class. Our classes teach with progression to help you develop your skills.
Is there anything I should do to prepare for a pole class?
Avoid lotions, oils, self-tanners and spray tan applications prior to pole class. Even in the morning! This is a safety issue for yourself and others who will touch the pole after you. We also require that you remove any metal rings, bracelets or necklaces prior to class to prevent damage to the poles and you.
Can I take pictures or videos in the studio?
We do not allow cell phones out during class for videos or photos. However, at the end of your class time, we allow time for you to record or snap your progress. We ask that you please be courteous and respectful of your classmates. Avoid including anyone that’s not you unless you have their permission.
What happens if I arrive late?
Plan to arrive or tune in 5-10 minutes early to your class to be ready to start on time. If you are more than 10 minutes late to a class or miss the warmup, you may not be allowed to participate in class. A proper warmup is very important for physical activity.
How do I cancel a class?
All cancellations must be made prior to the class registration cutoff - at least 3 hours in advance. If you cancel your registration timely, you will receive credit for the class on your account. Any late cancellations or no-shows will not receive a refund for the class.
What happens if the studio cancels the class?
Any class with less than 2 participants enrolled at cutoff will be canceled, and all credits will be refunded. In the event of severe weather or family emergencies, we will do our best to email, call, and/or post on social media at least 2 hours prior to the start of classes if classes will be canceled, and all credits for the day will be refunded.
What types of apparatuses are available and do they have a weight limit?
Our current studio space has three different sizes of Chrome poles. The poles are industrial grade made to support humans of all shapes and sizes.
